My Account Options
My User Account in Merchanter
Every user in Merchanter has access to their own account settings, allowing you to personalise your experience and tailor the system to your needs. This guide will walk you through the various options available in your user account, from updating your profile picture to setting default views and managing depots. Please log into your account and take a look and try some of the settings out yourself.
Accessing Your Account Settings
In the top right-hand corner of the screen, you’ll see your username, the depot you’re currently working from, and your profile picture. Hover over the picture to reveal a pop-up menu with several options.
From here, you can edit your profile picture, access your account settings, switch depots, and more.
Editing Your Profile Picture
To change your profile picture, click the pencil icon next to your image in the pop-up menu.
This will open a window where you can browse your computer for an image and upload it to your account.
Once uploaded, your new picture will be displayed across the system against your user.
Updating Your Account Details
Click the My Account link in the pop-up menu to access your account settings. The first tab, Details, allows you to:
Correct any errors in your name.
Set your Home Depot if you work across multiple depots.
Change the language of Merchanter.
Set your active and default cash drawers (if applicable).
Choose your default printer and default note topic (if you frequently create notes).
Update your password and set your employee PIN.
Make sure to click Save after making any changes to confirm them.
Setting Search Page Defaults
The Search Page Defaults tab allows you to customise the default views for different sections of Merchanter. For example, you can set the customer view to open on the Sales Value screen or the sales orders view to open on the Margin screen. This is particularly useful for teams with different needs, such as finance teams preferring the Credit Control view or sales teams preferring the Order view. You can also choose whether search filters are hidden by default.
Switching Depots
If your organisation operates across multiple depots, you can use the Select Depot option in the pop-up menu to switch between depots. This is useful for checking stock levels or placing orders on behalf of another depot, providing flexibility for multi-depot users.
Personalising Your Dashboard
The Personalised Dashboard option allows you to set up and manage KPI groups for your dashboard. From here, you can create, edit, and rearrange KPI groups to display the metrics most relevant to your role. This feature will be covered in more detail in a separate session. available KPIs are dependant on the user's roll, some KPIs may not be available if your reporting roll is too low.
Version Info and Sign Out
The Version Info option displays the current version of Merchanter installed on your system. This information can be helpful for the support team when diagnosing issues or bugs.
Finally, the Sign Out button logs you out of the system, ensuring your account remains secure.
Your user account in Merchanter offers a range of customisation options to enhance your experience and streamline your workflow.
