Setting Sales Targets for Reps, Depots and the Company

Sales targets are a key part of managing performance across your team, depots and whole business. Within the system, there are two ways to set and monitor these targets: either from the Sales menu or by using the Sales Analysis reports. Both approaches allow you to enter individual rep targets, which then roll up into depot targets and finally into a company-wide total.

Setting Targets from the Sales Menu

Start by going to Sales and selecting Sales Targets.

From here, on the left-hand side of the screen, choose the depot you want to work with and then select the individual user you would like to set the budget for.

You can now enter the rep’s sales target for each period.

As you add Sales Rep values, the system will automatically calculate the totals, first into the depot target and then into the overall company target.

I only need a Depot or Company Sales Target

If you only track the business sales at a Depot or Company level simply add the target against one Rep and that will become the Depot/Company target.  It does mean when users look at a ‘my sales’ KPI they won't see their sales against a target, but when they look at the KPIs for Depot or Company sales they will see them against the target.

When creating targets, you can also choose how you want to track them. The system gives you three options: by Gross Margin, by Turnover excluding VAT, or by Turnover including VAT. This flexibility means you can align your targets with the financial measures your business prioritises. you can set which metric to use from the track targets against button.

Setting Targets from Sales Analysis

The second way to set sales targets is through the Reports section. Go to Sales Analysis.

This will take you to the sales analysis for the entire company, with a breakdown of sales and a predicted sales figure generated from your previous month's sales. and a target line created from your combined rep targets. If you click on the Compare Reps button in the top right of the screen you will be taken to a list of reps.

From the list, select the rep you want to work with and then choose Drill Down to this Rep.

In this view you will see graphs showing performance over time. You can set or adjust the targets directly here. Once a target has been entered, you may need to refresh the page for the target line to appear on the graph.

Set target for remainder of the year

There is also a change target for the year button. Adding a value here and pressing the recalculate button will average out the new sales value across the remaining months of the year.

Set same value for remaining months of the year

And there is a Set target for remaining months tool. Add a figure in here and click the button, and the value will be entered in all the remaining months' target field.

Viewing Sales Totals against Target

Once targets have been set, the totals can be viewed from both the company and depot reporting areas of the system.

This provides a clear overview of performance against targets across every level of the business.

Sales KPIs with targets

Selecting a Sales KPI for the Dashboard (Dashboard KPI Overview), if there is a sales target set this will appear as a green wheel behind the sales figures.

With the example on the left you can see the total target for the company this month is £55,700 of which £6,677.54 has been achieved so far.

With the middle KPI you can see the user's sales figure for the month, but no target has been set at the Rep level.

With the righthand KPI you can see the same company sales MTD sales, but as it is showing Gross Margin and the target has been set against Turnover (ex. VAT)

Summary

By using either the Sales menu or the Sales Analysis reports, you can set clear and measurable targets for each sales rep. The Sales menu is ideal for entering multiple rep targets quickly and seeing how they contribute to depot and company totals. The Sales Analysis view offers a more visual way to compare reps and track progress over time. Together, these tools give you a complete picture of sales performance and help ensure targets are set, tracked, and achieved.
